Meet our Children :
|
OUR BOYS...........
HELLO!! My name is Charles Franklin Terry, Jr.:
I am 12 years old {13 on August 31} : the first-born child and also, the first born SON . My Mom was only 17 when she had me, so there was alot she did not know about raising kids. She says that is how I got to be so spoiled . I was an only child for 4 years and boy do I miss it ! Being a big brother is tough. I have been in the Cub Scouts for 5 years,. This year, I am a Webelo Scout!! Scouts is alot of fun, but I like is most because my Daddy helps us out. He is alot of fun to be around ..except when he gets mad.
I LOVE to ride motorcycles and fast cars but my mom thinks I'm too young. Every now & then I get to enjoy this speed ..but mostly, I settle for watching it on T.V..My favorite sport is playing basketball . When I can, I play baseball-but it is not as much fun .
When I was 5 years old, I was diagnosed with Exercised Induced Asthma (E.I.A.) and major Allergies . I am allergic to Red #40 and Yellow #6 food dyes , which is found in nearly everything ! I am also allergic to any nuts, so I can not have peanut butter. Do you know how hard it is to be a kid and NOT be able to have a peanut butter and jelly sandwich? Because I have Seasonal Allergies too, I get really sick in the spring & fall but I'm learning to deal with this.My doctor has me taking 2 different inhalers to keep this under control, as well as other meds. I take Albuteral as needed for attacks and Intal (preventive) 4 times a day. I also take Singulair at night-time. This is a pill and mama says it's great! My Asthma has never been as controlled as this. As long as I take my meds, I can pretty much run & play like other kids. Alot of times, I get frustrated & try to get out of taking my medicine, but my Mom always finds out. Then I get in trouble. I HAVE to at least try, though. It's my job as a pre-teen to test her patience, isn't it??
I finally got a skateboard for Christmas ! YIPPEE!!! I have begged for one for 4 years now! Poor Mom, she hides behind the door pretending not to be watching ..hehehehehe. She knows I'm gonna be careful.
I'm a very good student. I've been on the principals list & superintendants honor role since I started kindergarden 6 years ago. Mom says I get my good memory from her. I like school, but it gets hard at times. Especially since I'm in the school with bigger kids this year--I'm 7th grade. We have alot more homework--but I can handle it! UPDATE : 2002 : I was tested for the GT (Gifted & Talented) classes @ school & passed !! I'll start the classes in the fall of 2003. I am so excited!! UPDATE : As of Christmas 2002, I am no longer taking any of my Asthma medicine!! My health has gotten so good that I the doctor thinks I am no longer needing it.
**UPDATE** UPDATE : 2002 : I was tested for the GT (Gifted & Talented) classes @ school & passed !! I'll start the classes in the fall of 2003. I am so excited!! **UPDATE** I WILL BE 16 IN A FEW WEEKS & AM DRIVING NOW. MOM SAYS I'M GROWING UP TOO FAST.I ADORE HUNTING (GUN & BOW) & FISHING & AM TRYING TO LEARN HOW TO DRIVE THE BOAT. I WORK WITH MOM & DAD IN THE SHOP DURING THE DAY, LEARNING MECHANIC WORK. I RECENTLY BOUGHT A FEW OLD TRUCKS TO RESTORE, AS THIS IS MY DREAM. THEY ARE A 1960 CHEVROLET APACHE. ONE IS ALREADY RUNNING BUT LACKS THE EXTERIOR RESTORATION. I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO DOING THIS WITH MY DAD. Christopher Adam--age 6 {7 in October 2003}
I am the baby of the bunch and terribly spoiled! Just like my brother,I have Asthma and severe Allergies! But I do not have E.I.A. like him. I have just regular, old-fashioned, cannot breathe-Asthma. At the present, I take several treatments daily for this on his breathing machine. I take Albuteral and Cromolyn. My doctor says I am almost ready to learn to use inhalers. That will be great, cause useing the nebulizer, we cannot get very far away from electricity. I am a big boy and can do my breathing treatments all by myself. My mama taught me how. She keeps my medicine ready, and all I have to do is hook myself up to the machine, and turn it on. That comes in handy during the middle of the night when I cannot breathe and need medicine quick!!
I am a very tough boy. I can be as sweet as a chocolate factory or as mean as a grizzly bear! My Mom says I am very smart and have learned things my big brother has not figured out. I'm a very mature 4 but still mamas litle "Pookie-Bear" and daddys' "Buddy"
**UPDATE* March 28, 2001 : I was having a bit of trouble with my Asthma and developed a nasty case of Bronchitis . Well, when I went to see my doc, I asked him about putting me on inhalers cause I AM a big boy now, ya know.Guess What??HE DID!! I'm so happy now.
Now, I take Albuteral {as needed}, Vanceril twice a day & Singulair at night-time.Now I can go camping and fishing with my Daddy and brother and can take my medicine with me! YIPPEE!!I'm not having any trouble at all using these inhalers. Mama says I'm very smart. {I tried to tell her that..LOL} I start Kindergarden in August 2002. Mama says I'm growing up too fast. I don't think she's ready for me to go to school, but I'm more than ready. I can't wait ! UPDATE : As of Christmas 2002, I am no longer taking any of my Asthma medicine!! My health has gotten so good that I the doctor thinks I am no longer needing it. **UPDATE** I AM NOW 9 YEARS OLD & VERY MATURE FOR MY AGE. I LOVE THE OUTDOORS & YOU CAN USUALLY FIND ME UP A TREE SOMEWHERE. I STILL HAVEN'T NEEDED MY ASTHMA MEDS ANYMORE & AM GLAD OF THAT.

OUR GIRLS...............
~~~~~Anna Renee : age 9/ fourth grade :~~~~~ HELLO!
At the tender age of 2 I had my first experience with surgery.For some reason, I decided to see what happens when you stick an earing back up your nose! Geez!Don't ask WHY--I was only 2-ok.It was just one of those moments.
As if that wasn't bad enough-I had to have surgery on both my eyes in 1998. I have what the doctors call "lazy eye" and am very far-sighted. I have worn glasses since I was 11 months old. My first pair were tiny ! I did not like them very much, according to Mamma, caused I flushed them down the potty !
Anyway ,the surgery went Ok and I was a big girl. I never cried or anything. Now, I wear contact lenses.My eye doctor says that I'm his youngest patient EVER to wear contacts! Mom & Dad say "I'm such a big girl & they are very proud of me for accepting what life throws at me & dealing with it!"
Soooo----that's who I am! Hope I did not bore you. I am still young, so I have not had alot of time to DO anything-YET!!
**UPDATE-December 2000** Well, I did great on my testing for the special class. I scored very high on the first two test but the third one, I had a bit of trouble with. The only part I couldn't do was the 'hand-eye co-ordination' part, but that's because of my eye surgery. They said I was very smart and that I could take it again next year when my eye muscles are stronger.
Oh-well, I did my best and mom and dad say that's good enough **UPDATE** I AM NOW 13-A TEEN-AGER, ALTHOUGH I HAVEN'T GROWN ANY TALLER.MOM SAYS NOT TO RUSH IT CAUSE I'LL GROW SOON ENOUGH. I LIKE GOING OUT IN THE BOAT WITH MAMA & TIFFANY ON THE WEEKENDS--JUST US GALS, HAVING GOOD QUALITY TIME. THE GUYS GO OUT IN THEIR BOAT.
~~~~~~~~HELLO ! My name is Tiffany~~~~~~~~
I am the 3rd child in this family--age 8.That is awful at times. Me and Anna share a room . Mama says we are odd , cause we fight and argue all the time but cannot stand to be seperated. We used to have our own rooms , but I would sneak into Annas' room at night and sleep with her, so mamma put us back in the same room. I like having an older sister but I do NOT like it when she bosses me around. She treats me like a baby but I am a big girl ! **UPDATE** I AM 12 YEARS OLD NOW & HAVEN'T REALLY CHANGED ALOT. I'M STILL A DADDYS GIRL & NOT REAL ACTIVE BUT I DO LIKE OUR WEEKEND FISHING TRIPS.
