Hope you enjoy these photo's
Our Family Support Group with Charles' National Guard unit built this float for the Christmas Parade. We only had 5 days to build this & I think it came out great ! Hopefully next year will be bigger & better as we'll have more time to put it together.

We had Soldiers in full battle gear walking beside the float. They carried their M16 rifles {not loaded of course} with the bayonet.
The children watching the parade were fascinated to say the least.Several of them came up to the Soldiers for a better look. Many of them asked if those were real "knife-guns'. {ha}

This is a photo of our Santa's house {from the rear}. The scripture is to represent our Soldiers : Blessed are the peacekeepers.
I built this sign from an old pull down window shade. The letters were printed out on the computer And spray painted cherry red. We mounted the letters onto the blind and laminated the entire thing. I was very honored when the unit requested this sign to hang in the Armory. It hangs in the Armory for everyone to see now. |

Our float. We used a 16 foot trailer & built a box frame to square it up.
My pictures taken outside did not come out good, so you cannot see the lights.We used colored curtain lights behind the skirt. The lights on the tree and around the house are red, white & blue. |

Pulled by a Hummer ! Talk about attention grabbing. LOL
Thankfully, we were able to get use of a Hummer to pull the float. I think there was no doubt who this float belonged to ! |
We had a blast putting this together. We split up the cost of the decorations. Most of our decorations were donated. A very special THANK YOU to the Soldiers that helped us. We appreciate their hard work & dedication. It was both an honor as well as a pleasure to represent this unit in our town's Christmas parade.
